PURE:

At Pure and Simple you will only find the nicest things. All our products are 100% natural, with no man-made chemicals or toxins – just the finest that the earth can provide, full of natural vitamins and nutrients. None of our products contain parabens, SLS, SLES, phthalates, PEG, petrochemicals or any other nasties (click here to see a list of the most common offenders in high street skin care brands), and none have been tested on animals.

SIMPLE:

If you take a look at the ingredients lists on most cosmetics (even most so-called ‘natural’ or ‘botanical’ brands) it reads like a chemistry textbook. Chances are these will be the cheapest possible man-made ingredients, harsh detergents, synthetic fragrances and hormone mimicking preservatives. Recent studies have shown that 60% of what we apply to our skin is absorbed into the body – skincare companies will tell us that all their ingredients have been tested (usually on animals!) and are safe for use, but no-one can say what the cumulative effects of such a cocktail of chemicals are on the human body. And they’re not just bad for us, they’re bad for the environment too – we wash them away down the plughole without a second thought! Our products are only ever made with natural ingredients – some even have as few as 3 ingredients. There’s nothing unnecessary in there - just pure natural goodness.

NATURAL AND ORGANIC:

Every day our bodies come into contact with many chemicals and toxins – from pollution, from the food we eat, from our home and work environments, and from the things we put on our skin. This daily bombardment of chemicals can put unnecessary stress on our bodies and immune systems – it just makes sense to us to reduce the amount of toxins we come into contact with.

There’s not much we can do about the stuff we breathe in, and what we are exposed to in the outside world, but we can make a positive change by looking at what we eat, and what we use on our skin. Eating organic food, and using natural and organic skincare can help us to reduce the amount of man-made chemicals in our bodies, and that can only be a good thing.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY:

Natural products don’t leave a nasty chemical residue when they’re washed down the sink – they come from the earth, and they biodegrade back into the environment without leaving a footprint. We try to do as much as we can to minimise our effect on the world around us – we recycle packaging from our suppliers where possible and try to ensure that our packaging comes from sustainable sources and is, in its turn biodegradable, recyclable or compostable. None of the products we stock has been tested on animals. The companies we deal with all share our belief that we should work in harmony with nature, and with respect for all the living things which share our planet.
